RENOVATION OF OLD BITUMINOUS ROOFS

Sika has a complete range of systems suitable for the renovation of bituminous roofs:

• Glued single-layer waterproofing systems
• Mechanical fastening systems
• Liquid waterproofing systems

These systems can be installed with or without additional thermal insulation.

Roof inspection

A thorough inspection of the roof to be renovated is essential in order to be able to select the appropriate renovation system. Consult local Sika Technical Service for further information.

Several single-ply Sika® PVC/TPO membranes have been designed specifically for installation on ballasted roofs, where they guarantee a long-lasting result.

• Applicable in all weathers, even in freezing temperatures. This offers unique flexibility to applicators, their customers and designers

Mechanical fixing with SIKA®

• Mechanical fixation is the most cost effective technique
• Sika® Polyolefin membranes are resistant to bitumen and can be applied directly over old bituminous waterproofing
• Mechanical fixation is the fastest technique
• Sika® mechanically fastened membranes are reinforced with a polyester veil which contributes to the excellent resistance to the suction forces of the wind
• Renovation is possible in almost any weather
