Insulation and Waterproofing Renovation of the Roof of a Gestivan SA Building in Brussels In Preparation for Solar Panel Installation
S.A. Vincent Piront recently completed the renovation of three industrial roofs for Gestivan SA, located in Saint-Gilles, at the heart of the Brussels-Capital Region. This project, carried out in anticipation of a photovoltaic panel installation, covered a total surface area of 1,591 m².
Enhanced insulation and synthetic waterproofing
All roofs were fitted with 120 mm PIR thermal insulation, significantly improving the building’s energy performance (see our PIR roof insulation solutions).
Waterproofing was ensured with a synthetic Sika membrane, chosen for its durability and compatibility with solar mounting systems. Two skylights, 54 m and 32 m long respectively, were also fully renovated to deliver an optimal building envelope finish.
Major logistical constraints in an urban setting
This project was completed in a highly constrained environment: the building is surrounded by other properties and the only site access is directly adjacent to a busy tramway route.
Thanks to our extensive experience on sensitive and occupied sites, and a tightly managed logistics plan, all works were completed within the client’s timeline without disrupting surrounding activities.
